Can I cancel my
order?
Yes at any time without any
reason and your $99 will be credited back to the card you used to pay
the reservation fee.
Do I have to have a charging
station installed to purchase a Leaf.
No you do not. The car comes with a level one
trickle charger (120v house outlet) which is sufficient for many people.
Faster level 2 chargers (250v like an electric dryer or electric range
would use) are available and provide faster charging.
How long does it take to
charge the Leaf battery?
With a
level 1 charger 20 hours from 0% Level 2 takes 6 to 8 hours from 0%.
Keep in mind that most people would not run the car down to 0% in a
regular days driving. Trickle would take you from 40% to almost 100%
overnight. Level 3 charging called DC fast charging gives you a 80%
charge in under 30 minutes. That's from 0%, so if you weren't at 0% it
would be quicker.
How far can the Leaf go on a
charge?
It all depends. Electric
cars are very different from conventional gas cars. They love traffic
and hate the highway. The Leaf can for up to 130 mile if driven at 38
mph on flat conditions in moderate temperatures. On a regular CA freeway
you would go about 70 miles before your would need to charge. So 99
miles is the range quoted because it is a mix of the highway and city
range.
How much is a
Leaf?
The base MSRP for the 2011 LEAF is $32,780,
but the car currently qualifies for a one-time $7500 federal tax credit and
additional state and regional rebates which may dramatically lower the
